Cat Beds

These are very simple crocheted squares that I make every once in a while with random bits of yarn. When I have a large bunch of them I'll donate them to Feral Friends. (Pictures coming soon.)

Shawl

I found a free pattern online for this crocheted shawl that you make by starting at the bottom point then icreasing the number of stitches as you go to make a big triangle. I've since lost the pattern, but it was so simple I'm sure I can mke it again. I made one for myself in plain black acrylic yarn and one for a friend in a dark blue velvety yarn.  (Pictures coming soon.)

Southern Belle Barbie Dress

I found these pattern books at Half Price Books and had to have them. I have 3 different ones and started with the Southern Belle. It's supposed to look like Scarlet's dress made from curtians in Gone With the Wind. That dress is green and gold. I'm making it in blue with cream trim. I've finished the bloomers and the purse and they are very cute. The problem is that you have to crochet these with cotton thread and a very small hook and since my eyesight sucks I can't work on these for very long. It's beautiful but frustrating.

Plastic Bags

I love to crochet plastic tote bags and purses from "yarn" I have made with plastic grocery bags. I collect them when we go shopping and so I always have the material on hand and never have to worry about running out of yarn or not having any money to buy more yarn. I don't usually follow a pattern, but any bag pattern can be used. I've sold a few of these bags and as I finish some more I will post them in my Walk-in Closet. The bags are very sturdy and can even be machine washed and line dried. I like to make them in brown colored bags and give them a flap with a button or bead for a closure and a long strap so they can be slung across your chest.  (Pictures coming soon.)

Cakes

If you've read my recipe page you know I am not a chef, but anyone can make a cake from a box. I enjoy making them special by decorating them in fun whimsical ways. Below are puctures of a cake I made for a friend's birthday party in July of 2006.
